Are all of the kids in the sponsorship program from the orphanage?

No! Our sponsorship program serves the children in all of our programs located in Mexico, Nicaragua and Romania. That includes orphan care, after school programs, feeding programs, elementary school, as well as jr high and high school.

Can I set up recurring payments?

Yes you can! When sponsoring a child, you will be given the option to set up recurring credit card payments or you can mail cash/checks monthly.

Can I send a gift and/or letter to my sponsored child?

Yes! We recognize the impact of extended community in the children’s lives and encourage you to send birthday gifts, Christmas gifts and periodic letters! *please contact us if your sponsored child is in Nicaragua, as we aren’t always able to mail packages there.

What specific benefits does a child receive through sponsorship?

Your $30 monthly contribution helps to provide the children with food, medical care, a safe home, hygienic care and an education from kindergarten through university.

Does each child have only one sponsor?

No. Depending on what programs the child is involved with the cost to care for each child varies. For example, the care we provide for the children in our orphanage than for those who are in our feeding program. For that reason, some children do have multiple sponsors per child because we do need more than $30 a month to care for their needs.

Does my money go directly to the child I sponsor?

A: Your monthly donations go into a general child fund that will benefit your child as well as aid in caring for other children that do not have sponsors yet. All sponsorship contributions do go directly into that fund and not into any other area of the ministry.

Can I send my sponsored child gifts and letters?

Yes! We encourage you to send periodic letters, birthday and Christmas gifts!

Can I adopt children through The Mission?

No. All national and international adoptions must go through the corresponding government to that of the child.

Can I visit the child I sponsor?

Currently we are only able to manage visits for the children at The Mission base in Tijuana, Mexico. If you would like to meet and visit your child please contact our Missions Experience team: groups@themissioninc.org. They would love to help you coordinate a visit!
